This vital session serves as a cornerstone of our operational readiness\, ensuring effective communication support for the Burbank Fire Department and the City of Burbank during emergencies or planned events. \nThe net provides a regular opportunity for all Fire Corps ACS members to: \n\nTest personal and Go-Kit radio equipment functionality.\nPractice standardized net check-in procedures and radio discipline.\nSimulate passing tactical messages and handling formal traffic.\nReceive important announcements regarding ACS team activities\, training\, and upcoming events.\nMaintain proficiency in emergency communication protocols.\n\n  \nParticipation is strongly encouraged for all active Burbank Fire Corps ACS members to ensure team cohesion and skill maintenance. Other licensed amateur radio operators with an interest in emergency communications or the Fire Corps program are welcome to listen and may check in when the Net Control Station invites guest check-ins. DESCRIPTION:Join the Burbank Fire Corps as we participate in National Night Out 2025\, a nationwide campaign that fosters positive relationships between first responders and the communities they serve. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect directly with the public\, raise awareness about our program\, and promote volunteerism across Burbank. \nWe’ll be set up at Johnny Carson Park\, engaging with attendees through hands-on displays\, outreach materials\, and friendly conversations that highlight how our volunteers support public safety. \nThe event runs from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and is open to everyone—feel free to stop by\, meet our team\, and learn more about what we do. Please note that while anyone is welcome to attend\, only registered BFCP volunteers may sign up to assist with the BFCP Booth.. \nVolunteer Shifts & Roles\nShift times are subject to change as we approach the event date and receive more information from the City. \nWe need your help to make this event a success. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for one or more of the following shifts: \n\n\n🔧 Setup (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM) \nReport to the Fire Training Center at 3:30 PM to assist with loading gear and setting up our booth at the park. \n\n\n📣 Event (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM) \nStaff the booth\, share information about the Fire Corps\, answer questions from the public\, and support our recruitment and outreach efforts. \n\n\n📦 Tear Down (8:00 PM – 9:30 PM) \nHelp pack up and return equipment and materials once the event concludes. \n\n\nUniform Guidelines\nFull uniform is required for this event. This includes: \n\n\nBFCP grey t-shirt \n\n\nDickies button-up work shirt \n\n\nNavy blue tactical or uniform pants (No jeans!) \n\n\nVolunteers not in proper uniform may not be permitted to participate in certain assignments.
