DESCRIPTION:Join the Burbank Fire Corps as we participate in National Night Out 2025\, a nationwide campaign that fosters positive relationships between first responders and the communities they serve. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect directly with the public\, raise awareness about our program\, and promote volunteerism across Burbank. \nWe’ll be set up at Johnny Carson Park\, engaging with attendees through hands-on displays\, outreach materials\, and friendly conversations that highlight how our volunteers support public safety. \nThe event runs from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and is open to everyone—feel free to stop by\, meet our team\, and learn more about what we do. Please note that while anyone is welcome to attend\, only registered BFCP volunteers may sign up to assist with the BFCP Booth.. \nVolunteer Shifts & Roles\nShift times are subject to change as we approach the event date and receive more information from the City. \nWe need your help to make this event a success. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for one or more of the following shifts: \n\n\n🔧 Setup (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM) \nReport to the Fire Training Center at 3:30 PM to assist with loading gear and setting up our booth at the park. \n\n\n📣 Event (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM) \nStaff the booth\, share information about the Fire Corps\, answer questions from the public\, and support our recruitment and outreach efforts. \n\n\n📦 Tear Down (8:00 PM – 9:30 PM) \nHelp pack up and return equipment and materials once the event concludes. \n\n\nUniform Guidelines\nFull uniform is required for this event. It provides critical information on vehicle safety\, operations\, and responsibilities when driving for any BFCP activity—whether in a City-owned vehicle or a Personally Owned Vehicle (POV). \nDuring this training\, we will cover: \n🚗 Safe Driving Practices – Key considerations for operating emergency support vehicles and personal vehicles during Fire Corps activities. \n🔍 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – Review of BFCP driving policies\, including vehicle inspections\, documentation\, and safety protocols. \n⚠️ Accident Procedures – Step-by-step guidance on what to do in case of a vehicle accident while on duty. \n🛠 Hands-On Practice – Basic vehicle handling\, maneuvering\, and situational awareness exercises. \nThis course is mandatory for those seeking to advance in the program and is valuable for any volunteer who may drive as part of BFCP operations.
